ARRIS 9.5 spin 518 is now available for download on our web site at www.arriscad.com. Click on Support at the top of the home page, and then Product Downloads on the Support page. ARRIS 9.5 Spin 518 is at the top of the Downloads page.

This spin adds several new enhancements to Smart Repeated Items, the Environment Defaults Manager, Zones, and Quick Reports, as well as fixing several reported bugs. The complete list may be found in the ARRIS 9.5 Update Notes which is also available for viewing and/or download on the web site.

The ARRIS Encyclopedia has also been updated to reflect the enhancements and changes. This is included in the spin 518 download and may also be downloaded separately in the Training section of the web site.

We are in the process of updating the ARRIS 9.5 New Features Guide to reflect all of the additional features and enhancements added since the initial release of 9.5. This will be available soon.

Hi All,

ARRIS 9.5 Spin 519 is now available for download at www.arriscad.com. Click on Support at the top of the home page and then the Product Downloads link on the Support page. The spin 519 download is at the top of the page. The Update Notes may also be read on-line or downloaded from this same location.

This spin fixes several bugs reported over the last few months. There are also a few new enhancements including a more direct link to the documentation in the ARRIS Bookshelf under the Query menu.

The largest enhancement in this spin is the new User Preference menu. The User Preferences system has been updated and a new menu created to make the preferences easier to set, to remove a few obsolete settings, and to add several new settings. The new settings available (which are set on ARRIS startup) include the Open by Project/Open by File setting, the Icon/List setting for Entity Select menus, the Foreground/Background setting for placing Patterns, and more. Also a new section has been added to the User Preference menu which allows you to set plug-ins such as ARRIS Architect, ARRIS 3D, etc. to load automatically on startup. All of this is documented in the Preferences topic of the ARRIS Encyclopedia.

Although all of the User Preferences have default settings, after you install ARRIS 9.5 spin 519, you will need to go to the new User Preference menu (Customization pull-down menu, Preferences icon in the center of the menu) and reset your preferences. Any old - system preferences you had saved are no longer valid. No preference file save is necessary - all preferences are saved immediately as they are set.

Hi All,

ARRIS 9.5 Spin 522 is now available for download at www.arriscad.com. Click on Support at the top of the home page and then the Product Downloads link on the Support page. The spin 522 download is at the top of the Downloads page. The ARRIS 9.5 Update Notes (PDF) may also be read on-line or downloaded from this same location.

This spin has several enhancements, including several to the new User Preferences system. The default User Toolbar basename is now a preference instead of being locked in to the computer User Name. This is set in the Menu section of User Preferences. Also, the mouse button settings are now set and saved in User Preferences instead of the separate :sdbm command (which is now obsolete). User mouse button settings will need to be set and saved in User Preferences.

Also a new WEBSQL Datalink type for Smart Repeated Items has been added. There are 4 new settings in User Preferences that are tied to this feature.

The Query Area menu has been enhanced with a new "Slope" setting. This allows you add a slope factor to accurately calculate square footage of a plane drawn in plan that is actually on a slope (such as a roof).

The documentation is up to date on all of these features. See the respective topics in the ARRIS Encyclopedia for more information.

Hi All,

ARRIS 9.5 Spin 523 is now available on the web site at www.arriscad.com. Click on Support at the top of the home page and then the Product Downloads link in the middle of the Support page. This takes you to the Product Downloads page. The ARRIS 9.5 Spin 523 download is at the top of the page. The Update Notes may also be viewed or downloaded from this page (just below the ARRIS download).

This spin fixes a problem where the DWG/DXF Translator was failing on exports due to new User Default settings. It also fixes a problem where TIF files in drawings were not being plotted to PDF correctly. Also fixed is a problem in User Preferences where the Drawing Window Slidebar setting was not being saved and set properly. The default Right Click command on the Wall Trim/Extend button has been changed to Trim/Extend a given distance. This makes it more consistent with the Line menu Trim/Extend. The complete list of fixes and enhancements is in the update notes.
