First, I appreciate Sigma giving me this tool. However, I would not be comfortable giving this free viewer to a client because of the network tray icon. Software that forces itself into my tray pisses me off too. That aside, I see potential uses here at my facility for the non-CAD folks. We would likely pay to get a non-net pest version if available.
Is there a size limit to a dwg that eZ will open? I can not get it to open a 2.16 MB DWG file. For future uses, it would need to open 5 MB files (large flr plans). The DWG was created by ARRIS using Expert Translator.
Our housekeeping department wants CAD, but I don't feel they have the time nor talent to maintain CAD. eZ might be the ticket. They want to be able to do mark-ups, area take-offs, staff assignments (with color shading). So far, from what I've seen eZ is intuitive and could perform these tasks. I would need to provide them with fresh net square footage drawings (via CADMiner) periodically. What I hope is that they can bring their mark-up data and have it overlay the fresh base plans whenever new plan come out. This I have not successfully tested.
The closest I've gotten was what looked like the plan look at on edge (ever so slightly skewed).
